I wrote a longer version of this but Recruiting Animal didn't like it and shortened it for me.

Here it is:

Phone sourcers manipulate people.

They rely on their sense of timing and tone when speaking with Gatekeepers and that skill almost seems to have been born in the best ones.

“Con artists,” you’re thinking.

Maybe - if you want to call them that. I prefer social engineer.

A great phone sourcer leads others into action that produces the result she wants from them.  For this to happen she creates a need in them for something she possesses.

She inspires that person. This produces cooperation.  

I think it has to do with self-understanding and the power that brings to an individual and the tone in which that individual expresses that feeling of power.
