I didn't put Omaha, NE in the title because I need some of you recruiters to look at my job posting on our jobsite

http://hci.standoutjobs.com/

and tell me why we've had tons of hits for the salesperson position and none for the recruiting position. What am I doing wrong??

So far I am very impressed. It's easy to use, customer service rules and ben seems committed to making it better all the time. You won't find a more enthusiastic user than me! I will keep you updated!

Hello Maren,
I looked at your posting to see if I could spot anything. I do not know anything about the Omaha market, but here is my observation:
You do a fantastic job of explaining what the recruiter does in a fun and exciting way (without going into the typical details that you see.."must have x years of experience, etc.
Everything is written to attract your candidates except the last sentence that lists the pay. 30k does not sound compelling to me (again, I do not know the market there), but I would leave that out and see if responses improve. The reality is that the number is a base, and while you mention commission, that is what I focused on. I would imagine there are also benefits that are not mentioned, so perhaps you should just leave it at "We offer a competitive base salary in addition to a generous commision structure, bonus opportunities accompanied by excellent benefits" or something similar.
I hope this helps, let me know if you wish to discuss.
Kevin

I agree. 30K seems awfully low compared with what I see on a national scale, but 30-32 is what a midlevel sales person can expect to make plus substantial commission. We envision this person making around 67 or so with commission. I agree with your assessment though. Actual numbers (if in a post at all) should inidicate total comp package. My bad

Maren,
Please don't get me wrong, I do not find anything bad about it, I was just offering an opinion about why the response might be low...I think you did an excellent job with the ad so I do not know what else it could be other than perhaps people are not seeing it....you mentioned that the sales job right next to it received alot of response, so that is what I was left with.
No worries,
Kevin

Hello Maren:
I am Quadir from Illinois an independent recruiter.
Does your client accept H-1B 3rd party candidates on contract jobs?
I have a great network of IT candidates seeking for short and long term candidates.
I would like to contact you. Please post your response.
Thanks
Quadir
