It is Friday. Almost the weekend.
When I was in England last year, someone questioned how I said and used the word weekend, "You say it as if it is all-one-word..." I replied. "Well, it is all one word." Puzzled, they went on, declaring that it is supposed to be pronounced "week-end" with the emphasis on end - so therefore wishing someone a good weekend merely means, Have a good Friday (end of the week). I went on to explain that the full word, as in all-one-word, means Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.
An understanding had been reached between us.
Have a great weekend...
