Annoying or Cool

I just opened a corporate web site, and music started blaring out of my speakers.  Anyone ever encounter this?  

Do you think it's clever marketing, or annoying?

Hate it! I don't think it should just be automatic on the home page of a compnay site. One site had these moving bubbles on it, the music started, and it sounded like bad porn movie.

Annoying with a capital A. Beyond that, it's 2012... That happened before the internet started...

Apart from the style and taste issue it also assumes that everyone opening the site has the bandwidth to support all that 'stuff'.
