A small agency that I know of, has acquired a new Director of Staffing/Recruiting and has had everything negative to say since since her first day of employment (which was a month ago). So now a new rule has been implemented, they want to approve ALL resumes from recruiters before being sent to client companies,....which is totally absurb, because there is no relationship with the client. The Recruiters are the account managers. The issue is - the Director has complained of "lack of recruiting skills", where now, the agency is in debt, sendouts has been dragging and clients are getting anxious and upset. Does other agencies have this "practice"?
Before the Director came to this agency, there was higher morale, clients were decent, placements were being made. Input please? :)

Jai - of are the recruiting skills of this Director? Sounds like this firm is hitting a rough patch. What exactly is the goal of this approval process? Does the firm only recruit in one sector? I curious as to if it is an exercise to make sure resumes submitted are hitting the mark, or rather to make sure there is consistency. I tend to agree w/. you that the recruiters should know since they are nurturing the relationships. Was there a person in this role previously?
