Need some advice.
I signed up for an ATS system in February where you had to pay an annual licensing fee upfront ($1000). I had reviewed the system via videos.. Mind you, by this point I had reviewed/worked with several. My needs are simple and I am a one person shop.. After the data migration (cost of $500), I was allowed to actually get in and use the system. The “training” turned out to be a bunch of videos (at a cost of $300). Once I actually “got under the hood”, I saw the system was not intuitive and did not have a basic field that I need to do my business (Current salary). I realized this was not the system for me and I tried to get out of my contract on the second day. I was told that "since I signed a contract, and they had done “work” on my behalf, there would be no refund. That I had reviewed the system and should have seen this before signing."
I told them that I would pay for the training and data migration, but the annual licensing fee is something that should be refunded (or at least partially).
What should my be recourse here?

Technically they are providing discount on early migration but charging 1000's of dollar for migration process.
Talk to the owner of a company. See if they can help you. Do share the outcome.

Yasir, without making this crazier, I am in same boat as you too.. Same thing happened which is why I went to this other vendor.( I signed with them a week before merger announced!). So now I am paying for 3 contracts!!! (I was already under contract for the acquiring vendor you mentioned cause they wouldn't let me out of their contract last year, and they too want me to pay 1000's to migrate a few months worth of data)
I realize I have been tagged an ATS hopper, but I don't believe it's my fault.
I am tired of paying all these vendors so much money for systems that are lacking the basics. They continue to concentrate on all the bells a whistles.
Permalink Reply by Yasir S. Jilani on March 20, 2013 at 1:38pm I can really understand the whole frustration you going through with this ATS acquiring. It is really waste of time, money and energy. They kept us in blind about this merger and now when its done they want us to pay 1000's of dollar if you want to migrate.
They are lacking business ethic.
