I am fairly new to recruiting (in my second year) and brand new to this board...so what is your best single piece of advice on improving in our field?

My best advice is to study and dive deep into the Industry in which you specialize. The more you understand the stronger the recruiter you will be. It will help you find the right people and decifer the best from the worst. I've often asked Sr. level Consultants to join me for lunch for the sole purpose of explaining the technical or non technical responsibilities in their field. This also will help with networking and targeting the best talent!
That is great advice Amanda! Thanks.

Listen, ask questions, listen! (listening can be reading too :) ) It may seem like simple advice, but it is really effective i promise. I was told i have 2 ears and 1 mouth, use them in that proportion.
