Gallup finds companies choose the wrong candidates (talent / skills) 82% of the time. They drew their conclusions by studying hundreds of organizations, measuring 27M employee engagements & 2.5M+ work units over the past 20 yrs.

Gallup concluded, MANAGERS account for at least 70% (est.) of variance in employee engagement scores (business unit / industry / market agnostic) and POOR MANAGEMENT results in only 30% of U.S. & 13% employee worldwide full engagement.

If we can agree Gallop's data is even close to accurate, how can HR professionals of all stripes (management, administration, corporate & 3rd party recruiters) improve this shameful state and as important, what accounts for such a dismal outcome?

Is HR (ALL STRIPES) the problem... or the solution?

PS. Gallup sights a 147% higher earnings per share when GOOD MANAGERS double the rate of employee engagement as compared to their competition.
