Last night I reviewed my cell phone minute usage over the past several months. I noticed that my total usage per month is down 65%! Today I feel even more connected with my friends than ever before. The social media tools (Facebook being the #1 tool I use) are the main reason for this. I no longer have to call someone to find out what they are doing, where they have been or how they are feeling...I can simply check Facebook for that. And if they haven't updated their profile in a bit, I simply IM them or send a message rather than picking up the phone.

I'm curious to hear if your cell phone minute usage has decreased as well and if you feel its because of all the new social media tools available today.

Tom,
I completely agree. also with smart phones, you can use IM services that tap into data plan usage, so my text messages per month have decreased significantly too!

gotta love technology
nope - I still like to talk! Although, I do have a data plan on my smart phone so I use it a lot too.
