Letters of Intent

Do any recruiters use this as part of the process before extending a formal offer? I'm curious on your experience if this is a helpful part of the process or a hindrance.

Tim,

I assume you are referring to a letter that you ask candidates to sign stating their intent to accept an offer from a particular client with a certain title and at a specific salary?

I don't use such a letter, I do address this in closing candidates however...
