My future in recruiting will be determined by my ability to form a limited number of professional relationships with top IT contract consultants and the people who require them.
It's not about technology. It's not about the latest and greatest tools.
It's all about transparency, accountability, and professionalism.
Some clients and staffing firms will continue to try the volume method...throw enough resumes at them and hope one sticks. Volume recruiting is enabled by technology and tools. It always has been and always will be a frustrating time wasting expensive business practice. Or should I say lack of business practice?
Conversations. Meetings. Interviews. Pre-Screening and Qualifying. Testing. Verifying. Closing. Win-Wins.
My future in recruiting is finding and retaining the top IT contract professionals for my virtual bench. Be more than fair with them. Be the anti-pimp!
My future in recruiting is partnering with clients who are motivated to hire the top IT contract professionals over and over again.
My future in recruiting is simple: Clients-My Company-Candidates. Win-Win-Win.

I'd rather have one "star" and than 10 "just getting by's." Attracting those stars and then educating our clients that quality beats quantity everytime is going to be a huge turn in business. I totally agree with you. Great post.
