I was reading through some posts on here last night that suggest that obamacare and 2013 will create more of a demand for contracting/consulting in 2013.
I think I have always done a half decent job of bringing on new clients in the past, but lately I feel it is harder than ever to add new clients, especially consulting/contracting clients. I find that 9/10 cold calls to new clients end with a "no" for some reason. "no" could be for a variety reasons: "we are happy with our current vendors", "not using recruiters now", "try us back in a few months", "Call this person, blah blah, then just end up leaving a voicemail that you never hear back on", "can't add a new vendor", etc...
I'd say the majority of my openings are fulltime roles, and would love to diversify and venture into more contracting/consulting type openings. I think contracting/consulting is very helpful to level out the peaks and valleys of fulltime recruiting...
Any tips on where to find or how to land new consulting/contracting clients for 2013?
Cheers,
Evan
ps. part of me wishes I could just google search for it and there will be a big portal of clients that are looking for recruiters, but I think that is just wishful thinking...
