Dear friends,

I am so excited to tell you about a few split placements that were generated directly from 2 members here......Me and another person (I should check w/this person before I start broadcasting the fact that this person is getting ahead in this economy......you know how it can be...though I'm sure they won't mind.....)

I am a very "superstitious" when it comes to tooting my own horn - so please bear with me until I am 100% convinced nothing is going to go wrong.......if you don't know what I mean.....well, then.....uh.....you'll find out someday.

So with the earlier thread by Dan wondering where everyone is, etc. let me just say this: I am meeting people here and then building on those relationships to reach my ultimate goal: Sending an invoice.

Once the smoke clears and the money is in the bank we'll post our story. It's a good one!

(I hope I haven't just jinxed these two placements into oblivion.........it can happen!)

Jerry,

Congrats, that's great news. It also brings up two things that have been on my mind lately that I think are important. Regarding Splits. As some of you have alluded to here, it is best to develop relationships you are comfortable with and that fit well with your business. Sometimes people look at splits as a way to see a job, submit a candidate and poof, there's a placemnt. Could happen, but not very often and not very efficiently. When talking about splits it would be much better if the focus is on connecting people who's businesses may be a good fit rather than specific job and specific candidate.

The other thought is, a couple of us twittered about success stories and maybe starting a #BellRing for placements or other success to share good news and provide a kind of positive online environment. Maybe a permanent Bell Ring group here would be good. We all know how positive the effects of various success stories can be. Food for thought.

Bell Ringing is great! We had a literal bell in the first office I ever recruited from and I remember the first time I got to ring it. I couldn't stop smiling! Then I wanted to be able to ring it again and again so I got right back to my desk and worked my butt off! Congrats, Jerry!

Slouch, can we put up a virtual bell that alerts everyone when it's rung and you can see who rang it? That would be fun ;)
Great Jerry!

So when are your chickens supposed to hatch?
Good one Eric. Anyone who's been at this more than a couple years knows just how easy it is to go from feeling great about yourself to wondering where the money went......:)
