“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” ~ Buddhist Proverb

I’m not so sure about this anymore. What are your thoughts?

isn't the proof of this... this site?

Why do you doubt it Maureen?
I'm not so sure I doubt it - I'm interested in what others say. I, like you, think the proof in this are sites like these. And many others. Therein lies the conundrum, for me.
Maureen,

If one is to grow, thrive, and survive, one must change. When one is ready for that, he will search out all avenues for answers...the teacher will appear. It might be a new site, a new blog, a new book, a new way of looking at the same old problem.

there is another one--if I get this wrong, my apologies up front

You will repeat the lesson until you learn it.

Basically, you will continue to experience the same issues until you learn what you are to learn from it. If you avoid it, ignore it--that same issue will pop up again later in life--with a new relationship, a new boss, a new employees--until you learn how to resolve whatever conflict it is.
Oh, Heather, you always dry my tears.
A teacher can be many things, people, moments in life and when a student is ready to seek knowledge or change they will set out to find an answer. When someone is alert and searching for the information they are more apt to recognize the lesson and appreciate it's "teaching".
