Over half of the Top 10 trusted careers deal on a one to one basis with the general public by protecting, caring, or looking after their better interests.

These seem to be huge factors in choosing who we trust, as the 2012 Readers Digest poll shows that over half of the professions listed in the Top Ten are ones involving protection.

Paramedics claimed the top spot again this year, closely followed by Firefighters in 2^nd  and Rescue Volunteers in 3^rd place.
