Out at a couple of networking events over the past month and a similar question was asked of me a number of times and my answer is...I don't really know.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to be a similar response amongst other people I work with that its something they fell into, got into my accident, just started doing it and don't know why.  Also "no one grows up wanting to be a recruitment consultant.

Why did I want to get into recruitment...I don't know, but I will continue to do it for some years to come.

Yes, majority of the recruiters don't know why they are in recruitment. It is something they never planned and it just happened with them.
