Hello. I wanted to let you know of a golf tournament that will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Int. Oct. 7th at the Stonebridge Ranch CC in McKinney (North of Dallas). My friend's son - Riley, appears to be the normal 12 year old boy. Except that, he has Type 1 Diabetes. He is a skinny, athletic, smiley kid. When I heard Chuck (his dad) have to ask him if he had checked his blood sugar before he got on the 4 wheeler, I was struck by the impact this disease has on his life. Chuck's wife has to get up every night and test Riley's blood sugar (at 1 or 2 am). Because if she doesn't, he could slide into a diabetic coma. I have 2 kids and when they were babies, I did have to get up with them. But they out grew it. I can't imagine the pressure on the family. So if you are interested in the tournament, let me know and I will send you the invite. They have about 20 teams already and want to get another 20 teams. Please pass this onto anyone else that might be interested. Peggy McKee
