Comment by Joshua Lee on February 12, 2013 at 4:41pm Hello fellow recruiters. I have been a recruiter for 12 years encompassing all the difference facets of it that are typically available (agency, corporate, contract, independent, etc.). I am nearing the end of my career now as a recruiter and what I want to do one final thing on my way out. I've been actively participating in blogs and recently started giving 1-on-1 help when appropriate. What I want to do now is be a coach to those who want to have a similar work-life balance that I've accomplished. Happy to answer questions to clarify.
To get started, and maximize chance of success, the right "protogee" sort of has to have some attributes and experience. I'm looking to mentor and assist growing hungry smart passionate recruiters who want to learn how to be a successful independent consultant / work-at-home recruiter. I am looking for individuals with the following attributes.
1. Open minded attitude.
2. Natural above average intelligence evidenced by ability to figure things out.
3. Humility to learn.
4. Thick skinned to learn.
5. Business savvy and interest in business.
6. At least 2 years of agency recruiting experience. No exceptions. 5+ years preferred.
6. At least 1 year of corporate or contract recruiting experience preferred but not required. Alternatively, at least 2 years of sales and sales training experience.
7. Local to California or PST time zone preferred but not required.
8. Some experience working independently preferred. Must be self disciplined.
If you fall within the parameters of what I've described I can share my knowledge with you and you will benefit. What I want to teach you is a way to earn a good living working from home. There are some pitfalls to working from home so this type of arrangement requires drive and self discipline.
If what I've described sounds attractive, lets have a business chat and see if we're on the same page.
Good luck whatever you do.
