For those of you who don't know about this the Bushfires in Victoria, Australia, have been one of the worst things to hit Australia in living memory. Over 180 people have lost their lives in this hell fire, with nearly a thousand losing their homes.

Despite all this, sadness and loss, the support, giving and good old Australian mateship shown from the rest of the country have made me amazingly proud to be Australian. The amount of money raised in the last few days amazes me.

The effort shown by people to give, even in these well documented "bad economic" times, astounds me, and makes me proud. Upto $28million as of 5.30 this afternoon, after only 2 days!
