It is great to see a network for the Rocky Mountains. Thanks for getting this started Jenny. It appears that RMAR is focused on the private recruiting industry, is that correct? Any place for a corporate recruiter like myself?

Hi local recruiters,
Thanks Jenny for creating this group. I just joined Rocky Mountain Association of Recruiters this week and look forward to getting to know some local recruiters here in Colorado. Welcome to Colorado, too! I'm a fourth generation Coloradoan. I'm also on linkedin kacey@intellectrecruiting.com and would welcome any invitations. Thanks, Kacey

Mike O'Neil is the epitome of a go-getter. As a tech consultant and business strategist, Mike creatively arranged private networking events to promote his services and link various tech organizations together to grow his clients' businesses. Mike steadily created a vast network of service providers and other B2B organizations and began to develop the powerful networking events which focused on the core mission of what would become Integrated Alliances: a venture to bring people and business together in a vibrant atmosphere.
Subsequently in November of 2003, Mike founded Integrated Alliances, LLC, to serve that niche as a business networking and events company. Originally formed to include the Telecom and Internet industries, IA has grown to include other sectors such as web development, hosting, marketing and other business services. Today, IA has a network of over 8,000 business professionals and is recognized as one of the fastest growing business and technology networking events companies in Colorado.
Beyond IA, Mike is an Industrial Engineer who has been providing sales engineering services for systems integrators and large Internet/telecom carriers in Colorado for 15 years. Originally from Minnesota, Mike graduated with a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University in 1983. His passion in technology eventually moved him from Arizona to Colorado in 1990.

Hi Madeline,
That is great to build your network and your business. I have been in CO for almost 2 years now, and I am always networking!! I will send you a invitation on here and also please check out www.RMAR.org. Its group for recruiters and its a fun group (because its all recruiters).

In the work life balance arena, for me it was just the learning curve of what work life balance actually means here. I just have learned to clarify a lot more if a candidate says they want work life balance or a client defines that culture to be work life balance environment. So I just thought it was interesting the different expectations. Now I just ask tons of questions! I think overall, here people do expect to work less hours for the same pay than in other markets I have recruited in (Boston, St. Louis).

Hi everyone, I'm brand spanking new to recruiting! So I'm really trying to build my business and network. I'm on linked in, mbranda@surrex.com and would love to hear from any of you. Jenny, I also noticed a big life balance difference between Denver and Minneapolis when I moved here. I love it here too. I have been hiring actively here since 2004, and I have found that people who live here expect the work life balance. which aspect of setting expectations are you finding challenging? the long cycles? the delays?

I guess I'm in too! :)
