On what skills and behavioral markers should a candidate for sales position be assessed?

Building Rapport and Acquiring Information,Listening and Comprehension, Managing the Sales Process, Closing, Cognivite Ability, Socialability, Assertiveness, Achievement Orientation, Dependability and Emotional Resilience,

'Show me the money', billings and industry are the only two factors that should be checked.  If they bill it generally means that they pick up the phone, they qualify, they close.........all the better if they are successful in a variety of previous sales positions.  I've come across too many 'talk the talk' types.  I do admire greatly the quiet ones that 'walk the walk'....
