Community - Take 2

Thanks to lots of great thinkers sharing ideas last week on Talent Talk Cafe we had a rich conversation around community and came up with several guiding thoughts. Community is: a group with a common interest; a place to gain wisdom and knowledge; where those with different experiences and knowledge come together for a common good; giving back; where members get back more than they put in; creating and furthering relationships; respect; being; a web of inclusiveness; trust; and, they must be intentional.

This week we'll frame the community discussion around building a social networking strategy that begins by first establishing a deliberate community focus. So, given the guiding thoughts listed above on community, what steps would you take to design a talent community for recruitment in your business/industry? What are the most important actions a company needs to take to establish community? And, what should the expectations be relative to time to see a return on investing in building talent communities?

If you'd like to read the entire chat on community from June 10th, you can access it HERE. And, if you have ideas for future topics that you'd like to see discussed you can leave them HERE.
