I have been interested in HR Scorecard and collecting ideas on how to quantify the value of a hire or the ROI of the fee for a super performer. What is out there? Can anyone recommend a good book? Thx

All about the next level! This looks like a fun group. I am 8 years in recruiting and interested in sharing ideas, continuous learning and sailing. I get great satisfaction in placing superstars. I have learned a lot quickly but still have a lot to learn. 2008 was great and my best year to date, 2009 looks like a decline? But I am hoping it will be fine.

Here is a great website for recruiters. Be sure to check out the Value Recruiting Network at www.valuerecruitingnetwork.com

You can create a free log-in and post an unlimited number of jobs at no cost. Resumes are emailed directly to you from any job seekers that apply for your positions.

This is an awesome tool for recruiting. Value Recruiting Network earns its revenue from advertisers, so there is no cost to employers or recruiters.

Happy Holidays,
Ken

Hello I am a seasoned Recruiter now specializing in Fashion, Marketing, Advertising and Creative staffing. I started in IT and during those years spent most of my time in development technologies (embedded, J2EE, .NET, etc.), Sarbanes Oxley, Infrastructure (both OS and MS centric), Business Intelligence and Database technology. While SQL was my strongest area of database knowledge I did dabble in Oracle as well.

I transitioned just over a year and a half ago to the creative market and have loved every minute of it. While I thoroughly enjoyed the technical arena I have the opportunity now to let my creative juices flow. I work with all major Fashion clients and assist them with searches for Fashion Design, Technical Design, Production, Merchandising, Buyers and everything in between. Likewise I also assist the Marketing world and introduce them to the top talent in Flash Design/Development, Silverlight, Graphics both Print and Interactive, Account Management, Sales, etc.

As a Recruiter I once chased the mighty $. I've since learned that with hard work and high standards the $ will chase you. I have taken my knowledge to the streets and speek to many graduating students to help prepare them for the "real world" job market. I consult with my clients and never "sell" them. My goal is to gain such a trust with my clientelle that interviews just are no longer necessary we book the talent so that they don't have to. Afterall we are providing a service! If my Manager needs to review more than a handful of resumes then I'm just not doing my job. I rarely recruit from job boards, and likewise use networking and social sites to post my jobs in order to reach the most focused audience. I am always interested in networking and believe throwing one over the fence will reep rewards in the future and come back to you. Should you be interested in forwarding referrals please know they always have first priority and will be responded to promptly. Look forward to getting to know the group!

I am funny since people tell me that all the time...Perhaps my next life, I will get paid for making people laugh!

I am an independent recruiter and I handle most industries. Right now, I am based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Introduce yourself -

I have a dry sense of humor, been at this biz since I was married (23 yrs now ;-), worked mostly Technology covering J2EE, AS400, .net, web development. Also working with Trainers, Business Analysts, Project Managers and OCM - Organiz.Change Mgmt.

We (my wife and I ) started a business partnership with an Ex Accenture Business Dev'l Manager 2.5 years going on 3 now placing contractors as 1099/C2C hourly that has been a good recurring revenue producer and what I see as a longtime commitment from both parties. I am looking to do that in some other areas of the country as well if possible.

We're focusing on increasing our portfolio in the renewable energy arena because I think with the new gov't in place this is going to be a hotter field than it is already and it's going to focus on Transmission issues (like Transmission engineers)

We encourage split business to add to income and create new relationships that not only become friends but also business partners for as long as we are alive or in business or both of course. I don't see myself as retiring in this business as long as I can read, type, speak.

I feel that it was a higher power than me that decided this was a way for me to change/touch many peoples lives for the better, and I will continue to work this business until I cannot do it anymore - on a semi-retired basis someday of course, but we have a lot of years left in us before that hopefully.

I would like to see this as a group of people brought together that participate. I've joined some other groups that I don't see much participation in and am seriously looking to downsize my groups within a year or so if activity doesn't pick up. I'm selective on adding people to my network, trying to focus on connections that will be productive. We've only got one chance in this life so I have rejected several invitations because I couldn't see the benefit for either party really. I know this is a social network, but I want to make the most of the time I have on this planet, I mean that in a nice way, but there is only so much time we can throw at everything we are involved in.

Thanks everyone!
