Marc Gringras - Founder / CEO - appointment management

Marc Gringas is a serial entrepreneur with a successful track record as a venture capitalist. Prior to founding Tungle, Marc was Vice President of Business Development and Product Marketing for Nimcat Networks, a leader in peer-to-peer (P2P) communication applications, until its acquisition by Avaya Inc. in September 2005. Marc was previously a venture capitalist at Innovatech Montreal where he oversaw investments in numerous telecommunication and software companies. As a venture capitalist, Marc’s investments yielded a combined ROI of more than 125 percent.
Prior to joining Innovatech, Marc co-founded Gytek Inc., an e-commerce software company in Waterloo, Canada, which he eventually sold to Entrade Inc., a NYSE company. He remained with Entrade as Chief Technology Officer. Marc also managed the launch of " ", a leading Canadian portal.
He continues to be actively involved in the community as an advisor for local technology companies and SOPAR, a non-profit organization working toward reducing poverty in India. He also teaches Entrepreneurship in High Technology in the University of Ottawa’s MBA program.
Marc earned an MBA from INSEAD, a master’s degree in management sciences from the University of Waterloo, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Ottawa. Web Site

Bill and Thad, great interview. More and more recruiters need to and will begin to accept assessment into their operating practices. Using assessments can save recruiters 40% of their squandered time, not just on screening out the bad apples, but on selecting in the candidates that really do want to find the right opportunity.

Additionally using assessments or and targeted selection interviewing affords the recruiter a unique opportunity to brand themselves as a consultant committed to selection.

There are firms popping up all over that operate inside of the standard of using targeted selection, behavioral interviewing and assessments in their hiring and someday in the not too distant future it will become the norm.

I am currently using SMS Txt as a means for candidates to reply to our client's advertisements. Candidates enter in keywords to short codes to receive auto text response carrying "click to call" and WAP sites along with additional response information for job response - this program is higly successful in not only engaging the demo of younger users we are seeking with this client, but also adding longevity to the ad (people tend to hang on to txt messages longer than other ads that are served up) and an element of viral marketing whereas candidates forward this messaging to their friends... there are other features and benefits to mobile marketing - Louis Vong's comparison to traditional advertising or product advertising/ marketing in my experience is accurate, and that recruitment tends to follow a few years behind that of product marketing.
