Looking back at the World Trade Center from the deck of the Statue of Liberty Ferry – in early August of 1998 – I snapped these photos.

I look at these photos today and still cannot comprehend what befell them and all the lives related to them.

The loss – the outrage – endures.  The insidious threat lingers.  These pictures remind me what can be taken for granted can be taken from us.
