There's an unfortunate error in this post. The 50K hires are to be made in US restaurants only, not globally. So that's better news for the US ecomony! On the whole, I think it's a publicity and PR move for McDonalds to be talking…

That's a tough one to answer for everyone, but IMHO the 'better' recruiter has discovered the way to the top is to treat every candidate professionally, even those who behave unprofessionally with you (the recruiter).

I'm leaning towards the view expressed by some that it's going to be a mixed bag, and necessarily so. There's no silver bullet to finding recruiting success relying upon any single tool or source. Once you start thinking that way,…

Which question(s) do you think other recruiters should ask more often?

Early on in my career as a recruiter, after the initial call with any candidate, I'd always wonder whether I had learned enough and asked the right questions. I still don't like to think that I know everything.  I'd like to hear what questions recruiters here think other recruiters should be asking more often or even at all. I haven't been visiting RB as regularly as I'd like to, so if this has been asked and answered before, feel free to move on. :) …See More

Nice post. Couple of thoughts here. The starting point for this post was a client pushing the recruiter/agency for a lower fee. Even though everything is negotiable, it still begs asking, is the 'client' already a paying client you've…

This is a very interesting and relevant discussion. Great points for and against. I'm coming down on the side that thinks the cover letter is a relic of the past. My two cents:   The cover letter might serve as a starting point for the…

Thabo, that was a great post and made for really good reading! In elementary school I was taught that there are 3 basic signs of life: respiration, growth and reproduction. If we analyze a business from that defition and assume that it is a living…
