"We faced this situation and the candidate did declare he interviewed with our client 3 years earlier. He is part of their user group meetings, from time to time, but they just never thought of asking him to interview for a job, as he owned his own…"

Ambrish Kochikar replied to Jimmy Roa's discussion 'How staffing firms do it.'
"Jimmy,  I have worked in environments where the sales and recruiting desks were separated, but not to the point of zero overlap. The best sales people I worked with were also good recruiters (maybe not the best sourcers, but they knew their…"

Ambrish Kochikar replied to Tim Spagnola's discussion 'Question of the day: What are you going to do different in your daily recruiting approach for 2013?'
"1. Focus on building stronger relationships with candidates, which is the foundation for success and is also being proactive and not reactive. 2. Analyze what skills clients hire for and prepare to be met with similar needs. 3. Develop more…"

Ambrish Kochikar replied to Sunil Kumar's discussion 'What to do......'
"Sunil, facing the situation you describe seems quite tough. There was one time when I faced a (seemingly) unending stretch of rejections on a specific job or with a specific client. It almost seemed like I could not get it right and there was a bad…"

Ambrish Kochikar commented on Valentino Martinez's blog post 'THE ARROGANCE FACTOR IN RECRUITMENT'
"That's a tough one to answer for everyone, but IMHO the 'better' recruiter has discovered the way to the top is to treat every candidate professionally, even those who behave unprofessionally with you (the recruiter)."

Posted on April 18, 2011 at 11:33pm 0 Comments

Early on in my career as a recruiter, after the initial call with any candidate, I'd always wonder whether I had learned enough and asked the right questions. I still don't like to think that I know everything.  I'd like to hear what questions recruiters here think other recruiters should be asking more often or even at all.

I haven't been visiting RB as regularly as I'd like to, so if this has been asked and answered before, feel free to move on. :)
