I'm not exactly a newbie to RecruitingBlogs, rather I've been a passive “lurker” for some time. Thanks to some of the more regular contributors on the site and their almost startling openness, something has awoken in me that wants to get more invo...

So... how was your day?

So today, it turns out, is one of those days where things just fall into place. A day where birds chirped as I woke, interview feedback was great, fabulous news came for a long time candidate (an offer 2 years in the making) and to top it off I logged on to RBC to find a lovely spotlight piece by Rayanne for Bonus Track that made me blush.

I even got a chance to catch some snippets of the… Continue

A tale of triumph!

Okay, maybe it's not exactly triumphiant. But certainly a delightful success. I'm talking about a recent placement. Amidst the stories of tought times, several folks here are doing us the service of posting about the good things they have going - what a great and uplifting thing. We all need a little pep talk every once in a while, and what better way to get revved up than to see our fellow RBCer's having success.

I made a placement last week that has me on cloud nine. The lead came from a cand… Continue

Swinging for the Fences...

In true St. Louis “baseball fanatic” fashion I want to talk a little about what I affectionately call the “curve ball”… I was thrown said curve ball late last week and my lack of refinement in my initial response to it immediately reminded me of just how important flexibility and a dynamic attitude can be in recruiting. To be honest, it’s been a little while since I had a pitcher who really “stepped up to the plate” and surprised me – (okay, I’m done with the baseball lingo now, I just wanted to… Continue

Hey Becky! Thanks for suggesting the site to me. I had heard of it before but had never visited so this was a nice reminder. Hopefully I can get some good advice and add some value for other folks while I'm at it :)

We had narrowed it down to Monster or iCIMS. Because of budget constraints we weren't looking at products like Taleo (although given the cost-creep, maybe we should have).

If iCIMS ends up in the top two, let me know. We have discovered a real license-creep in costs, practically doubling over the first year as "sharing" a license doesn't work real well. In my experience, they came in with a low quote, but over time, the other top runner would have been cheaper (and IMO better).

Hi Becky - I just opened recruitingblogs for the first time since mid-December and would be happy to talk to you about iCIMS and my personal experiences, thoughts etc. Unless your timelines are tight, though, this next week is pretty busy for me, so perhaps the week of the 19th we can connect?

hey becky,

I read your blog on peoples nerves regarding the market and inevitable unemployment. I enjoyed reading it. I have personally felt the same exact thing as you have, the good thing is that there are people like us that try to get to help some of these people out there despite the fact we cant get to everyone, the few we are able to help makes me feel good!
