"Great story!  So inspiring!  I know several young ladies in your same position who went overseas to work and loved the experience. They all came back better for having done it."

How do candidates in "niche" fields find employment?

I need some advice from the group.  My daughter is looking for work in the fashion styling field.  She would like to work in styling photo shoots for magazines, etc.  However, there are no recruiters for the fashion/styling field that we can find. If she was an accountant or a marketing person, for instance, there are plenty of recruiters who are experts in helping one find a job in those fields.  However, in this "niche" field, how does one find employment?  She has a degree in Fashion…See More

Resume Verification - Don’t Be Fooled By A Smooth Talker

It’s a well known fact that some people lie on their resumes. There are plenty of statistics around that show the percentages. Some people embellish a little, some embellish a lot, and some outright lie. Most of the time, that lie is about their education. According to the Society for Human Resource Management, one in four candidates misrepresents his or her educational attainment. If someone lies on their resume, how can you trust them as an employee?

I can remember several…
