Interesting post. I think you raise a good point and perspective. The staffing industry has always reacted to economic shifts like an accordian - shrinking to a resource level under capacity during the bad market - and expanding over capacity…

HR Tech 2008, 2005?, or was it 2004?

Posted on October 24, 2008 at 4:00pm 2 Comments

I attended the 2008 HR Tech Conference and Expo in Chicago last week. I've attended this show, on and off, for almost 11 years now. I haven't been to an HR Tech for 3 years before last week... Prior to joining Arbita recently I was more focused on the 3rd party Staffing and Recruiting side of things for those 3 years - So, I've been on the StaffingWorld, NAPS, NACCB circuit for a while.

It was like I never left. Don Ramer calls this… Continue

OnRec – a window on the market. Change is a foot.

Attendance: The show was well attended by HR and Staffing pros at all levels, and from all size companies.

Content: I may have been lucky in my session choices, but the topics, speakers, and panels were engaging, on point, and timely for today’s market challenges and opportunities.

I didn't think changing jobs would be stressful enough so we decided to sell our house at the same time... and of course, it sold right away. New employer, meet your new homeless executive.

Every few years I make a change like this, and every single time it is… Continue
