2015 - "The Year of the Recruiter"

2015 will be the year of the Recruiter. There are several factors that are working together to cause this perfect storm for next year and I believe that the Recruitment Industry, both on the Contract-to-Hire/Temporary labor side as well as the Direct Hire/Permanent placement side will see great growth next year. Our firm, which specializes in both Direct Placements and Contract-to-Hire requisitions has already started to see an uptick in 4th quarter - 2014 job orders, and only see it continuing…See More

"Yes. My venue is always my conference room in my office. I definitely think hiring a lawyer is the way to go in your case. Hopefully your contract states the client is liable for all attorneys fees. Find an attorney to first send a demand letter and…"

JP Sutton replied to Jacqueline Bozorgi's discussion 'Non-paying client?'
"Yes, I did. The client told me to stop contacting them and that if I had a problem, they would see me in court. So, I filed my claim with their registered agent and went to court. In the end, I won my case and they paid me within 2 weeks of my…"

JP Sutton replied to Jacqueline Bozorgi's discussion 'Non-paying client?'
"I would disagree with that. From all my experiences, suit will have to be filed where the person/company being sued is located. If it's small claims, anything under 15k, then no attorney is needed. Anything over 15k an attorney is required.…"

"I think your missing my point Nicholas... Any how. I hope this situation works out for this young lady, I hate to see these things happen in our industry. One must be very careful these days when staffing out in outside States."

"Of course they have a choice Nicholas, all they are going to say is see you in court and put you on ignore."

JP Sutton replied to Jacqueline Bozorgi's discussion 'Non-paying client?'
"Jacqueline, I just went through this and won my case. You will have to sue them where they operate, not where you are located. If they are in TX and you are in CA. You will need to travel to TX and file a claim there, through their Company Agent.…"

"Next time, structure a deal where they pay you part of the fee upfront. That has a habit of stopping this kind of behaviour."

"Mitch you are correct in your last comment. It doesn't matter how much a company likes me, if I can't deliver, then they will drop me like a bad habit. On the flip-side however, if I can deliver, but am an ass, I will also be dropped.…"

JP Sutton commented on Jason Webster's blog post 'Top 5 Frustrations In Corporate Recruiting'
"Hi Jason, I think there are many variables to consider here when comparing Recruiting to HR. Sure they work hand-in-hand, but HR is much more an integrated business function than Recruiting is. Having been on both sides of the coin myself. I can say…"

JP Sutton commented on Jason Webster's blog post 'Top 5 Frustrations In Corporate Recruiting'
"Interesting article. I do however disagree that Recruiters are managing that many reqs effectively, even on the low end. I also disagree that the bar is too high. Being former HR, most recruiters just suck at recruiting and understanding the…"

When its time to put the Ki-Bosh on an Employer

So interestingly enough, this week I had to put the Ki-Bosh on an employer client of mine that I was working with for a  little over 1 year now. This employer connected with me last year with multiple requisitions for Engineering Staff. We signed an agreement and I started my searches. It was about 60…See More
