Job Boarders

I'm a ten year veteran of the online job board industry. Recently I launched several new green job boards that represent the future of renewable energy jobs. Whether your'e looking for solar jobs, wind jobs, biofuel jobs, geothermal jobs, sustainability jobs or leed certified jobs, these sites are the answer for finding or posting green jobs.

My sites also target the local job market in the Northeast. Find and post CT jobs, NY jobs, MA jobs and RI jobs. After all, all recruiting is local.

I think that message tells you a lot more than just the words that are typed.  I read into their culture from the tone, their sense of humor(stalker much), and their brand push socially.  Good stuff in my opinion...

The best part about your post is that there IS an auto response.  From what I hear from candidates, 99% of all responses go into a black hole with no response at all.  Good for Firstborn.  Thanks for posting.

A simple but effective recruitment auto-response

I was emailing a prospect the other day when I got their auto-responder email they send to candidates. It immediately caught my eye as a simple but effective message. I like the casual tone it sets for potential candidates and and how they encourage you to like them on social media. The flickr account is a nice touch. Every employer should showcase their offices with photos. So you want to work at Firstborn? That’s good news because we’re always looking for talented people to join our team. If…See More

Context and Job Titles

Posted on January 3, 2012 at 8:30am 0 Comments

I have to write about this every year so lets start 2012 by resolving to write better job descriptions.

It starts with your JOB TITLE.

The title is the first thing a job seeker sees when searching online so its important to give it context. It must inform the job seeker, not confuse them. And its a chance to add keywords which will help make it…

Tried & True: the Job Board Still Delivers

Posted on December 22, 2011 at 12:30pm 6 Comments

Job boards have gotten a bad rap over the past few years. A lot of it has to do with the reputation of the big boards like Monster and social media fairies exclaiming the end is near. The naysayers could not be farther from the truth.

Now, I have all the proof I need to know that job boards are…

Recruit on Twitter? follow Google's lead

Check out https://twitter.com/#!/googlejobs

Entitled "Life at Google" their twitter account is a living, breathing, active communication tool for their recruitment strategy. They link to job openings but they also COMMUNICATE WITH CANDIDATES! Something many…
