My name is Josh Arnold and I am a recruiter working on a nationwide basis. I focus on the splits network and have about 120 recruiters, who like myself work on a split fee or commission basis. A model similar to multiple listing services in real estate, only here on company finds the job and the other finds the candiate.
For companies it is less about how large my recruiting company is, rather how large my network of recruiters is, and how we can deploy resources to find the best talent to fill open positions that are not typically available to recruiters working at a company.
The power of the network is our competative advantage in the global market place.

What do you like best about RecruitingBlogs.com...
http://pluggd.com -Currently in BETA still though…lets users search INSIDE audio files for key words and related terms that are displayed on a heat map for skipping to relevant parts of a podcast/audio file where your keyword you type shows up with the audio/speech!!!!! PRETTY COOL – now we can potentially search audio/podcasts on what people say using keywords!!!!! Neato!!!

Podzinger already uses speech recognition with podcasts but doesn’t offer the semantic analysis of terms related to your search query.

Blinkx does something similar for video, but Pluggd is building on speech recognition and adding even more value to search results.

www.retrevo.com - searches product manuals, displays mfg info, searches blogs and forums. Would mostly help you in finding ELECTRONIC/HARDWARE oriented people…at least so far on my first few passes at this.

www.bitty.com – pretty neat little search engine (no pun intended ;)

I am the “Admin” for the Recruiters On LinkedIn group, www.recruitingblogs.com/group/linkedin. You have recently joined and this is a "welcome" to the group and "here is how it works".

Over the past year I have been experimenting how best to facilitate members being able to connect with each other. Some want to connect with everyone and some are looking for a few meaningful connections.

1-2 times per week I send a group introduction message with 10-15 new members and reintroducing others.

What this means for you is simple, do you wish to be introduced to the group?

You have 4 options from which to choose:

(A) “Open Networker” with name, email address, and LinkedIn URL as you want to connect with anyone and everyone.

(B) “General Introduction” with name and LinkedIn URL as you are specific about who you want to connect with.

(C) “Lurker” no announcement will be made as you want to be on the sidelines connecting with people as you wish.

(D) “Super Open Networker” which is (A) plus having your contact information on the group page.

A caution on the “Open Networker”, you may be inundated with invitations to connect. For some this is exactly what they are hoping for and others this could be a pain.

I do ask, if you receive invitations from members you do not want to connect with that you “Archive” the message versus “I don’t know” so the sender is not penalized by LinkedIn although how you handle this is up to you.

Again your options are (A), (B), (C), (D).

Please include your LinkedIn URL and email address you prefer to receive invitations and send to paul@mnheadhunter.com

Thank you for your time.

P.
