The most important thing is.... Be honest....Be ethical. A lot for employees hate HR because they do not do anything, nor do they "walk the talk".. So act on their issues and always follow-up and Be professopnal..

Sure.... The most important thing I find is simply outflowing - connecting up to others for networking etc. and building your data base. Also, find the groups here and on Linked-in that most closely represent what you are looking for and connect up. It's not just what you know, but who you know.
