"I use to spend time thinking I had to come up with a perfect candidate write-up as well. Then it dawned on me - why not add a play button to the top of the resume and let the candidates speak for themselves. The rest is history!"

Google’s messing with me!

I am normally used to reading about the fabulous new updates on Google’s Blog and how they added this or made better that for searching. But lately I am so fed up with Google making my search life miserable. Actually, sad, hurt and frustrated. I mean its one thing to deal with my 6 year old twins saying no to everything (6.5 to be precise, lest they spot mommy saying this on the big WWW) but now even Google? What’s up? I am in no mood to be sorry or…See More

"I used to write long, detailed candidate summaries, but have sensed for some time that the longer they are, the less apt they are to be read. This was confirmed by Danny Cahill this past weekend. He was a keynote speaker at the NEAPS conference and…"

Does your candidate write-up sound like the Gettysburg Address?

Posted on May 12, 2010 at 4:49pm 5 Comments

Well mine does, sometimes!

I’ve always had a tough time being succinct. Blame it on being a detail oriented, “transparent with the client”; hate to leave out anything Ms. Perfectionist”. My boss’s boss likes to say my middle name is “one hundred percent”. (Actually I quite like that though am not sure who’s getting the last laugh here) And, on the other hand, one of my managers says I write too much aka The…

Don't bite off more than you can chew! Why not??

When you engage with a client, do you make your capabilities sound grander than they are, the search easier than you think it is? Do you add fluff or do you keep it straight? How do you keep that balance between integrity and getting work in the door? I wrote this blurb earlier this year on our corporate blog site RecruitingArsenal and it is timeless as ever.

Ever wonder why archaeologists (Definition: The systematic study of past human life and culture by the recovery and examination of remaining material evidence, such as graves, buildings, tools, and pottery) and paleontologists (Definition – The study of the forms of life existing in prehistoric or geologic times, as represented by the fossils of plants, animals, and other organisms) keep digging in the dirt, studying all the fragments…

How to organize your favorites (almost) like the Sourcing Pros

Posted on April 15, 2010 at 11:05am 0 Comments

I am the world’s most organized person. Well, it doesn’t hurt to think that way at least. Not until I’ve filed and catalogued so much I don’t know where the heck it all is anymore. Like a pre-schooler who does not like one food group to touch another, I diligently bookmark into categories all worldly pertinent info that catches my eye. Pertinent and important in my world of sourcing that is.…
