Another Twitter Blog Post

Hey Everyone.

On CruiterTalk.com I have an ask the recruiter section. A questioncam in this week that has spawned a 4 part posting series I wanted to share. Here is a snipet of part I. Please take a peak at the full deal HERE.

Ok, so check it out; Twitter is absolutely the most widely talked about and maybe even the most used tool to communicate on a second by second basis. It’s fast paced, quick hitting and gets relevant information to your foll… Continue

Big Biller out of work? What to do in this down spirl of a job market

What to do? Help a firend out and leverage the power of what nearly 16K members of RBC breathe everyday. The power of a trusted and credible network built on relationships and 32,000 helping hands.

So we all know that the economy is in the crapper, the job market is horrendous, and many of our good friends are lost without work. I’ve been apart of RBC since the beginning and have personally help place people while others have done the same for others I have referred to them.

From time t… Continue

Philadelphia Recruiters Meet-up a Great Success

Well, the first recruiter meet up in the Philadelphia area has come and gone and I have to say it was a great success. With over 60 recruiters strong, the conversation was full of really strong best practices and strategy sharing regarding social media and leveraging web 2.0 technologies in our day to day. So much of our job is about process, strategy and now more than ever technology.

More HERE

I’ve been asked many times already what my favorite… Continue

Zvents.com

Having the ability to source and uncover top talent is crucial to your success. Sometimes the tools we use come from non-traditional means.

I’ve recently come across an outstanding tool that is not at all meant for recruiters but you know what that means. As a breed, we are probably the more sticky and intrusive people around, but in the end we find people jobs and that’s what it’s all about.

Enter Zvents.com. Here is a little background. Based in San Mateo Ca., Zvents employs about 55… Continue

What makes me a smart recruiter?

What makes me a Smart Recruiter? Recruitingblogs.com makes me a smart recruiter and all of you make me a smart recruiter. Let’s face it, we all share somewhat of the same drive and attributes as recruiters. Some just succeed a little more than others.

So what makes me different? Honestly, not much. But one day oh probably a little more than a year ago, I had some great conversations with some guy who had a vision. A vision to create a home for recruiters like you and I. A home where we can shar… Continue

Communication - Collaboration - Conversation - Community

Communication - Collaboration - Conversation - Community

What do these terms mean to you?

To me they represent the data shift that we have seen over the past few years; it represents the need to share information and the need to touch as many people as possible for no real specific reason. It’s about having the feeling that you belong; the feeling that your thoughts and work are respected and needed. It’s the impact that you have on your peers and the idea that your impact drives motiva… Continue

Hi Ryan,
I just read your response to the detail on LinkedIN regarding hiding contacts. In those responses you mentioned that you have some ways that work well communicating to your LinkedIn Network.

My network is growing, however I'd like to be able to offer something monthly or once a quarter to everyone I'm connected to on LinkedIN as a communication touch base. I know Dave Mendoza does this I get his email often if not weekly. What do you do to keep your network "tuned in" to what is going on with you and sharing/giving back to your network?

I welcome your ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
Sarah West

Hi Ryan,

I've been out on here before and play around with blogs and such when I have time. How organized are you? My office has a little more than 90 recruiters associated with it. Do you have an event in the works that I can pass along?
