What makes me a Smart Recruiter.

One of the things I love about Recruitingblogs.com that it gives people a chance to connect with one another to form a community. Within this community, we have access to information such as updated industry practices, new technologies, and of course recruiting blogs. It’s a great format to blog about our profession and it also gives people opportunity to comment on these blogs. Most of the blogs are thought provoking such as this topic.

One a day- for Recruiters – Complete multivitamin plus more for Recruiters*?

Just imagine how simple it would be; one pill a day and everything is just great!
This pill would give you all the energy and insights to handle everything about
recruiting during the day. Wouldn’t it be great if we could go shopping for a
bottle of One a day- for Recruiters?

Since there’s no such bottle, what do you do to supplement your recruiting health?
What I mean by this is, how do you maintain the competitive edge during this
uncertain economic time? How do you stay positive? How do you… Continue

Casting Director is another word for a Recruiter.

For tonight, I'm thinking that being a recruiter is like a casting director. It would be like working for a producer who wants to make that block buster movie. I'm thinking of the movie- The Dark Knight; directed by Christopher Nolan. Starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart. Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent .

This movie blew me away since the star of the movie was Heath Ledger. He was the one that carried the movie- he was perfect for the Joker character. This is an example of when y… Continue

Is this your day for Fishing?

I found this floating around....I hope you catch a Big One!

Is this your day for Fishing?
*******************************************************

One day a fisherman was lying on a beautiful beach, with his fishing pole propped up in the sand and his solitary line cast out into the sparkling blue surf. He was enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun and the prospect of catching a fish.

About that time, a businessman came walking down the beach, trying to relieve some of the stress of his work… Continue

Monday Recruiters

Funny Stories for Monday floating around.

Towards the end of a job interview, the recruiter asked a young engineer fresh out of an Ivy League school, "And what starting salary were you looking for?" The Engineer said, "In the neighborhood of $125,000 a year, depending on the benefits package." The recruiter said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 5 weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, a company matching retirement fund for 50 percent of your salary, and a company c… Continue
