"I'm a Lead Talent Social Aquisitional Head Hunting Specialist"

What's that?

"Oh, sorry... I mean I'm a recruiter!"
Name someone you most admire
George Carlin, Bill Hicks, John Lennon, Ghandi - in no particular order
Which blogs would you recommend people read?
Do you have time to follow blogs? I don't... although I wish I did - I just don't have the luxury of a big bank account, giving me the ability to sit on my ass all day and follow lots of people gossiping about this or that.
What recruiting tools can you not live without?
My ears - Remember to always listen to what your clients and candidates have to say - that's the most important thing!

My mouth - I have to communicate don't I, and try to sound like I know what I'm talking about at the same time. Although I'm currently trying to train myself to become telepathic - We're all getting lazy aren't we - and soon we all won't have the energy to make the sounds that form the words in our mouths!

My legs - Got to walk in order to go out and meet my candidates and clients. Ok - sometimes I drive or get the train - but I still need my legs to do that. Soon we'll all lose the use of our legs anyway, as we'll be stuck at home on our computers all day long, still praising the advent of social media and technology!

Anything else? My brain I guess... but then again - people are finding ways to make technology an answer for everything... what do you need us for? I say leave the computers to employ other computers, and they can all run the world for us. We can instead just go out and play all day long - as long as the computers don't get too clever and try to destroy us just like in the Terminator. Either way, our country leaders are doing a pretty good job of destroying us all right now - I don't think the computers need to worry about us getting in the way!
What do you like best about RecruitingBlogs.com...
The amount of members you have on here and all of the great discussions that go on!
...and what would you change and why?
My underpants right now - I've just been for a run and it's getting a bit sweaty down there!

External Recruiters: Are you a "salesperson", a "consultant", or both?

Posted on December 2, 2011 at 8:30am 2 Comments

The big question I'm really interested in is this: What's in the best interests of the candidate and client... a consultative approach, or a sales approach?

After all... the "better" recruiters in our industry always focus on the big "close". For these recruiters, every aspect of their work resolves around…

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I last posted on here - that's because I've been really busy keeping my head above water in this never ending recession. Anyway, I've noticed many references by recruitingblogs to Bounty Jobs... I'm sure they are paying recruiting blogs to promote them.... which is fine,…
