Well said, Geoff. As the machines advance and even accelerate, only those recruiters that provided little real value in the first place should be worried.
How do you introduce yourself to people you meet in business?
Full cycle Big 4 recruiter with a recent focus on business functional and SAP/Oracle ERP professionals. Work closely with business owners (i.e. partners), candidates and a variety of specialized internal domains (immigration, relocation, onboarding, global staffing solutions and technologies). Niche skill-sets, as well as high volume, quicker turnaround. I "get it" and love going after it.
I had to jump in on a discussion over on ERE about the number and 'quality' (such a subjective term) of people now available on the market due to layoffs and the recession.
Read the piece, originally by Dr. Sullivan on January 5th, and a variety of spirited responses including mine here.
Question to fellow recruiters and HR leaders: how have the results been (in terms of ROI and time put in) using Twitter to source (unlikely) and foster long-term relationships (more likely)?
Hi Sean! Thanks for the note and connection. Sorry for the delay but missed this before leaving on vacation. Glad to hear you enjoyed Talent Talk Cafe and look forward to hearing / reading your voice more! Cheers!!
Having trouble logging into my primary recruiting blog (also a Ning), "Canada Recruits." Have put some articles and work into it, but may shift over here in 2009. Apologies for the silence on this side.
Hi Sean - I still miss the great beer on Granville Island! :) I'd like to extend a personal invitation to you to join XtremeRecruiting.tv here on RecruitingBlogs.
