Tracy, Candidates that are unemployed, some employed as well, are always a little more desperate to take a second kick-at-the-can after sending them a polite no thank you reply to their application. Happens to me daily as I always attempt to…

I had a client who offered a senior role on a Thursday with a lovely conversation in which he said I had gained his trust in the process. Very nice thank you! The offer was accepted by the candidate on the Friday, I bought a round of drinks in the…

Recruiters: Have you ever been fired by a candidate even though they have accepted the position you worked hard to obtain for them? It happened to me today!

Long story but apparently this individual has asked our client that we do not contact him anymore as he felt too "pressured". However he has accepted the role that we introduced to him and did some very creative "out of the box" thinking in order to help him with his main motivating factor for changing jobs which was to reduce his travel time away from a young family. We were successful in cutting it down from traveling 2 weeks a month to a 3 hour different time zone to never (unless he chooses…See More

Just to clarify....you found him the job, he accepted, and then he fired you?  Are you getting paid for your services?  I have had candidates tell me they didn't want to work with me anymore (once they've interviewed) and they…

Treat others as you would like to be treated is a good rule of thumb....Like everyone else that has commented, so far, it all depends on what the scenario is for the cancelling of the interview on whether or not we can give you an answer.

Back when I started in the recruiting industry, (I can hear you now: “Yeah, yeah. Uphill both ways, against the wind and in 6 feet of snow, you old fart!”) we did not have all the tools we do today. Now, don’t get me wrong - I love our tools. It has made our recruiting efforts much easier however; the only “tool” that has not changed and WILL always remain the most important is our ability to communicate!…

Hi again,
Just looking at your profile icon on my contacts and noticed a small typo in your corporate name. I have been busy doing book reviews for a publishing company in the US so my proof reading skills have been sharpened when reviewing others work...of course I always have tons of typos in my own work...Murphy's Law!!
Cheers,
Sue

Hi Stuart,

Glad to connect with you. Have to admit that I haven't had a great deal of time to work with this site as most of my networking takes place within my LinkedIn connections but interested to see if you find this site to be an asset in the recruitment arena.

Sincerely,
Sue
