I am finally answering the question you asked last November! For various boring reasons, I have not been able to access Recruitingblogs.com on a consistent basis.
The mistake I made as a new business owner:
I did not write a business plan nor consider the tax implications should the company enjoy immediate success. I had business plan knowledge, but chose not to take the extra step in preparing one. Much to my surprise, my company grew VERY quickly. Consequently, within 6 months of opening the doors I had to back track and write a business plan. In addition, because of the tax implications and liability I had to change the business from a Sole Proprietorship to a Corporation. Changing the legal aspect of the company created a domino effect. I had to change the branding of the business which included all collateral. This was a costly mistake. I hope this helps! Sorry it took so long to answer you. Dee
