How do you introduce yourself to people you meet in business?
Todd Kmiec & Associates began in 2002 as the Independent Recruiting world was starting to really develop into what it is today and what it will be down the road. We are, and always will be totally committed to working with independent recruiters.

At its core, recruiting is simply about finding the right candidate, not creating them. Our unique business model enables us to both cast a wider net and dig deeper into any industry. In the end, the more difficult positions are filled because of greater reach. With talented independent recruiters working for themselves, our model provides that greater reach. Every recruiter's network is unique and every recruiter's process is their own. By working with strong independent recruiters with various backgrounds, networks, and processes we provide greater and deeper reach to fill difficult positions.

My goal is continued growth on the way to becoming one of the most successful recruiting firms in the country focused strictly on permanent placements with a stronger reach than other agencies because of the strength of the independent recruiters we work with. In addition, we will continue to be the very best option for talented independent recruiters interested in splits or a client side partner. I am committed to this industry and the wonderful people I have had the opportunity to meet and partner with and to doing all that I can to contribute to the continued growth and success of all involved.

The Client Side - Cash For Candidates Part II

Now that we know that Cash for Clunkers was the real Clunker, I've had a chance to reconsider my proposal of Cash for Candidates. Edmunds.com did a study showing that it cost the Government (that means you and me because we are the Gov's sugar daddy of course) over $24,000 per clunker deal, probably close to the total price of the new cars in most cases. What an incredible waste. And now we hear that car sales are dipping and expectations are for lower numbers over the coming months. They basica… Continue

The Client Side - Manny Being Manny

It’s just Manny being Manny. That’s the line on Manny Ramirez, one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. Manny did steroids. That’s a bad thing. Manny seems to care only about Manny. That’s not good either. But……Manny gets the big hit…..All the time. The stats show that Manny’s home run to at bat ratio goes way up when the game is on the line and especially in big games and in the playoffs. At the most critical point, when nerves crush most players’ ability to perform, Manny just does his… Continue

The Client Side – Truly Specialized

What is true specialization in regard to the recruiting industry, and is it important? I think the answer is changing and a specialist down the line a bit will be far more specialized than a specialist today. Here’s what I mean.

For years, specialization has been used primarily as a business development line. Not just in our business, but all over the place. “Mr. Prospective Client, I specialize in helping people just like you.” If it’s true, really true, that’s great and it will be effective.… Continue

The Client Side – On The Verge Of A Thriving Environment For Recruiters?

Are we on the verge of the best recruiting market any of us has seen before? Or at least a thriving environment for recruiters? Maybe. Conditions have been incredibly tough for our business, but I think it is entirely possible that we will roll into a great period for our business. Here’s why.

My hope through the last year or so has been that it won’t take much of an improvement in general business conditions for those of us left in the recruiting business to do really well. Looking around th… Continue

The Client Side - The Success Model

The other night I had the pleasure of being on the HR Happy Hour show with Steve Boese. I'm a bit of a fish out of water when getting heavily into HR talk because I'm not an HR guy. I'm a recruiting business guy. However, it was fun and there were several topics that came up that I think are worth exploring in much greater detail. As an aside, one that did not come up was the story of the night Tracy Tran missed the game of the century in order to save the planet. A night I'll never forget and w… Continue

“I have worked with Todd for over 3 years and am amazed at his reach nationally to find the best candidates. I have hired him to help one of my clients to find engineers, something in short supply in Southern California. He always comes up with the best candidates, even better than the local recruiters I have worked with. Todd is punctual and very responsive when contacted and stays in touch all the time throughout the process. He is a beacon of light in an industry full of recruiters who are lazy. I highly recommend Todd if you need a recruiter who is very effective and has a great network. He really works for his fees. Dan Curtin” November 10, 2008

“We have been working with Todd Kmiec since the beginning of this year (2008). We have found that Todd is very professional, and that he has a very strong knowledge of the way recruitng should be done. Todd knows his clients and understand what they are looking for in a candidate. He is very quick to respond to any questions and provides concise and clear feedback. When a candidate is in the interview phase Todd follows through so that all parties can be kept up to date and clear on the status. We have worked with Todd on several difficult to fill positions and have both enjoyed, and learned from the experience. We look forward to working with him on many more. November 7, 2008 Sally K. “Todd surpasses all recruiters and is by far the most consistent and organized recruiter I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I have had a working business relationship with Todd since January '07 and have yet to see anything short of superior work ethics. I give Todd two thumbs up and a solid recommendation for those willing to establish a working relationship with him, you will not be let down. Mike Land Executive Recruiter” November 6, 2008

He's always available to answer any questions that I have and makes it a point to always touch base. He really is someone to know as he takes great joy in what he does. He's working round the clock to please his clients and does it all with a great attitude. "Todd is one hard to come by and rare to find. Over the years I’ve known him through our daily recruiting operations, he has never failed me, not even ONCE. He is 200% dedicated and expert at what he does. His follows his miraculous system with precision, insight, determination and perfection. He is one I’ve known with the most business common sense, openness and fairness. You can expect a lot from him but still not getting disappointed. He is truly one of a million, the best partner I’ve had. He sets the perfect example of what a model business partner should be. I can never say enough of how proud I am in finding him. I have no doubt that our partnership will be a lifelong one. I highly recommend Todd to anyone interested in partnering with him for any business activity." May 10, 2009
