Location-Based Services: Privacy vs. Responsibility

Original post on ResearchGoddess.com

I've been reading a lot of posts lately from people who are concerned about the privacy of some of our new social technologies, in particular the geotagging services such as Loopt, Gowalla, Foursquare,…

Since when did it become unacceptable to have pride in one's country!?!?!?

Alright, it's 2am and I'm watching the men's volleyball game between Venezuela and the USA, and I just read this question on LinkedIn: What do you think about NBC's decision to delay broadcasting the opening ceremonies to the Olympic Games by 12 Hours?

Some guy responded with this:

I'm going to Mamelodi, South Africa!

Posted on May 13, 2008 at 1:48am 0 Comments

In November of this year, I will be going on an aid trip to Mamelodi, South Africa with Crossroads Community Church, a Cincinnati-based non-denominational Christian church, to build homes, teach kids and transfer sustainable skills. The church has made this journey for the past 2 years to aid the people of Mamelodi, which is an urban area outside of the capital city of Pretoria. There are close to 1 million people living in Mamelodi, and… Continue

Not only am I planning on learning a TON, but I also get to hang out with my dear friend, Ms. Suzy Tonini! She alerted me to this gathering and it is a bonus that I get to see her as well.… Continue

Hi Amy - I read your response to the texting (sexting) blog and tried to reply, but the technology was not working...it is pretty amazing how people who are shy or even careful can make idiots of themselves online - and even more on a text. But that is food for thought for those of us in the recruiting space - when we see a Myspace or Facebook entry that tells us more about the person then we would usually see, we can't exactly remove that thought from our heads, can we?
