Recently I’ve been diving into social networks with an interest in automation. Don’t get me wrong, I get a good deal of business from LinkedIN, but I worry about it’s future.
I have to thank Dave Mendoza and Jason Davis as being great examples of leveraging networks. I’ve used LinkedIn
from early days, but only recently have I started adding connections en mass.
In the past few weeks, I’ve been adding 1000+ LinkedIN connections per… Continue

More and more, employers big and small feel the need to know about the background of prospective, even current, employees. The question of how to find the best employees without violating internet privacy rights laws can be confusing.
In recent years, there has been an explosion of Internet data brokers that offer to find out anything about anybody, with little or no questions asked. Typically, these services offer public records searches, including criminal records, for most… Continue

I had started as a Recruiter about a year ago in a small private practice. This is the first time for this position to be full-time and they came up with a bonus plan for every employee I hire. It's not working and I have nothing to compare it to. Can anyone share with me their bonus structure? I hire Physical and Occupational Therapists in a Medicare part B practice. Thanks!

I called a candidate for a scheduled phone interview this evening and after we chatted for a few minutes, I asked the first interview question. She interrupted me suddenly and asked if I would hang on for a moment. I listened as she poured herself a glass of wine (I know this because she offered me some), lit up a cigarette, and picked the phone back up again. Then she said, "Ok, begin". What’s your impression of a candidate like this?

Ok, not many Dutch people here (yet). But since I tend to recruit people from all over Europe and even worldwide, I presume it might be interesting for 1 or 2 others to know about this new venture called careersinholland.com and the Dutch multi-lingual jobmarket in general.
So, what's the deal over here? Well, Holland is home to many European or EMEA headquarters of some major international companies (Philips, Shell and Unilever not surprisingly, but also for… Continue

Albert Einstein defined insanity as “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting your results to change!”
I often use this quote during my training/speaking engagements to reinforce the fact that creating good habits and/or breaking bad habits is a very difficult thing to do.
In my last blog post, I touched on “attitude” and how it will either positively or negatively affect you, your day, and ultimately . . . your passion for recruiting!
