Survey Says: Mobile Disconnect

This year’s Spring ERE Conference & Expo yielded a lot more than just wicked tan lines and tasty burritos. In addition to the great content presented at the show, we also managed to dig up some good information from our onsite snap poll, which we’re more than happy to share with you today. Our quick…

Choosing a new ATS, need your advice..

My company is a small IT Staffing & Executive Search firm considering a move from JobDiva to another applicant tracking system/crm.  We have looked at a bunch of them over the past 6-months and have narrowed it down to the following:

  • Bullhorn
  • PC Recruiter
  • Job Science

I would like to get advice from others in IT executive search on the following:

- Who is using Bullhorn or PCRecruiter or JobScience now and do you like it?

-…

Your Best Candidates May Be Trapped

“Before beginning a Hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it.“– Winnie the Pooh

I lost my passport a few years ago. It sucked. As I was due to fly to India for a friend’s wedding in less than two…

Actually, Recruiting IS Sales - How I've Come To Accept It

I read the article by Kyle Lagunas about recruiting, and how it’s not like selling at all. And while I appreciate his thoughts, I think they are misguided, and frankly, I still think he’s speaking as an "expert" in an area where he doesn’t have any applicable experience. This is akin to me giving stock advice. Sure, I have a brokerage account, but I lack the Series 7 that would be critical for me…

Who should we blame for poverty, debt, obesity & ROBOTS?

Poverty, debt and obesity are complex and serious societal issues with multiple potential causes and no simple solutions. That’s why society looks for easy targets to blame.

Robots are also complex and serious, yet in a dramatically different way. Depending on the perspective, robots are either credited…

Recruiting to Lose

"I think you need to have a program that funnels the right people to the top." — Rick Patzke

That quote sounds like it comes from a recruiting professional, no? Well, it doesn’t. Rick Patzke is actually chief operating officer of USA Curling, but he is speaking about recruiting, in a roundabout way. And yes, this is your obligatory Winter Olympics-themed post... just in time for the closing ceremony. Phew.

USA Curling takes …

Delighting your clients is so easy....

“Under promise and over deliver” – these are the very wise words of Tom Peters. It’s such a simple concept but in practice so few businesses manage to do it.

This baffles me.

If we manage our client’s expectations, if we let them know exactly what they can expect and then deliver on, and if possible…

3 Places to start when sourcing candidates

When we talk about building a Talent Network, we speak a lot about providing a number of options and ways for candidates to opt-in to this network, whether that’s in job distribution campaigns, on the Career Site or a number of different locations.  But the second half of that equation and just as important is your recruiters / sourcers proactively sourcing candidates into your…

The 'Lucky Seven' Business Development Strategies for Recruiters

Nothing interests a CEO more than the topic of increasing revenue. Nothing.  If anyone tries to tell you different, they may be fooling themselves.  Sure, leading a company to greatness takes specific skills that are both innate and learned but the most important aspect of being a CEO is creating the pathways that will…

Why Recruiters Should NOT care about The Cloud

There has been much talk about Cloud computing or SAAS recruitment software and the massive benefits for a recruitment agency to move to the Cloud. I find this quite amazing for two reasons, firstly most people I speak to aren’t really sure what this means and secondly the whole argument seems to have absolutely nothing to do with finding candidates, making placements or anything else to do with recruitment.

For the life of me I can not see what all the fuss is about, but…

Advanced Internet sourcing for Recruiters

I regularly run free recruitment software and technology webinars and yesterdays, on Advanced Sourcing, proved more popular than most. This is a recording followed by my notes on what happened.

I wanted to convey the shear scale of the subject of recruitment sourcing while also focus on some useful techniques that can give immediate benefit. It’s really mind blowing…

Is Your Staffing Company E3 Certified?

Whether an employee of staffing company, a candidate working with a staffing company to find their next career, or a company that has hired the services of a staffing company,  one had better make certain that it is E3 Certified. What is an E3 Certification you ask?

The E stands for EMPOWERMENT. The 3 represents the EMPOWERMENT of the following 3 groups:

ERE.net recently posted a blog outlining four strategies to implement as we face the War for Talent. Overcoming Recruiting Challenges: How an Automated ATS Can Help

Staffing firms typically contact TargetRecruit with several specific goals and a list of high level requirements as they evaluate Applicant Tracking Systems. These requirements vary for every staffing company, in fact, no two staffing company’s requirements are exactly alike. The ultimate objective, however, is always the same:

“Increase our staffing company’s sophistication as an enterprise by automating workflows, business processes, and communications to increase placements…
