What is your Recruiting Job Title?

This topic has come up previously on RBC and I must say that I do find it to be a bit amusing. As a recruiting professional - what is your current job title?

Recruitment Consultant

Headhunter

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Candidate Experience Manager

Have any…

Are you bored with RBC?

I too have been bored! Not just here, but everywhere online. Too much noise, nonsense and dumbification. There has been a severe suckage situation for quite some time now across multiple venues. Maybe I'm a fool for saying that (more than handful of times) here, over there, or anywhere. Or, perhaps...?

As a regular contributor and commenter within the HR and recruiting blogging community, I was thrilled to be invited to join RecruitingBlogs’ 2014 Editorial Advisory Board. Yeah, I…

Agency Recruiting: And you think you missed out on a placement fee?

From time to time all 3rd party recruiters face it. Show me the money! Whether it is a late paying client or one that disputes the placement, issues over commissions is not a new topic. A quick search on the RBC will identify numerous blogs and forum discussions on this topic, but I think the…

Crowd-sourcing some support to return @animal to Recruiting Animal

Perhaps like me you've been following the saga about Recruiting Animal's Twitter account @animal being hacked. His name was stolen and taken over by some random coder/programmer named "Mikey"

The Twitter handle thief replaced @animal with some hideous, unwieldy and wacky new account name @animaliaaa2

You can read about the timeline of events here: …

The Words We Use As Recruiters (choose wisely)

From today's RBC Daily:

"Change just one word and you can sometimes change your entire approach for the better." This is a great quote from Jeff Harden's new article on Inc. entitled The 5 Most…

A Lesson for Recruiters, Corporate Gatekeepers/HR and Hiring Managers from Steve Jobs

A Toast “to the crazy ones,” by Steve Jobs

Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with…

I Wish I Could Recruit ..........

No this is not a rant post, but rather good weekend fodder. I was speaking to a colleague this weekend and this individual was sharing some thoughts about new obstacles within their market, and some difficulties associated with a few potential placements. It opened up into a 'if I could have done it differently'…

My Bags are Packed, I'm Ready to Go...

I write daily in the discussion forum here on RecruitingBlogs and I will be honest with you, it takes a lot out of my brain. But I LOVE it. My involvement with RecruitingBlogs.com has been nothing short of a big, fat blessing. I have met the most wonderful people and made life-long friends. Seriously. Additionally, the wisdom that is graciously shared across this site is truly that: WISDOM. I value the time I spend here. I value what I learn here. I value the… Continue

Paying It Forward As a Recruiter In a Down Economy...

This mentions The Ruthie List and RBC as a place to find recruiters, cool. I joke about how many interviews I have been on and not yet landing that perfect gig, but it's HUGE that I am getting so much help and virtual friends are opening so many doors. I am doing my part as well, helping others with resumes and making referrals for all the jobs I wasn't a fit for. These are indeed scary times that we are witnessing, thankfully there are people stepping up and being people, being human beings… Continue

RecruitFest, Part Quatre..., for Pete's sake ... Part FOUR!

Well...., I wrote a beautiful blog last night at about 2am but RBC was undergoing maintenance when I submitted and it never made it to press. Ouch! I will try to re-create here...

Saturday morning started with me waking with a start at 8:25am... shoot! Yoga starts at 8:30... I slapped some water on my face threw on some workout clothes and walked in late but just in time to partner with the lovely Anna Brekka. If you have met her, I am sure you agree: she is lovely. After an hour of… Continue

RecruitFest, Part Trois

After a nice nap, I dressed for the party and raced downstairs to meet the waiting vans. RecruitngBlogs arranged for large passenger vans to take attendees to Jason and Michelle's house for a nice dinner party, poker tourney and more party...

We arrived in style and were ready to chow down. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and good times were waiting for a crowd of happy and now well-armed recruiters. The day of shared information… Continue

...it's time to re-arrange

I have been thinking a lot about "change" lately..., and I don't mean the loose stuff you put in the empty Sparklett's bottle at the end of the day. Although change is sometimes painful and can be extremely difficult, it is typically necessary in order to move forward in life or career advancement.

Almost two years ago, I left a comfortable job with a search firm that specialized in nurse management search and the occasional hospital CEO, VP-HR, etc. I had become very… Continue

Digging Into RecruitingBlogs v1.14

I missed a couple of weeks in order to avoid offering version 1.13. I'm not superstitious, exactly.

In that time, we had a very successful Recruiting Roadshow in Minneapolis. Special Thanks to Jason Davis, Dave Mendoza, Maren Hogan, Steven Rothberg, Jason Buss, Paul DeBettignies, Kelly Wackerfuss, Don Ramer, Josh Kahn, Toby Dayton and George LaRocque. Paul DeBettigne's mom made a special guest appearance. One of the featured speakers was the former editor and CEO of the Minneapolis…
