Admit it, the big "O" stimulates quite a reaction

You clicked to read about your idol Oprah, didn’t you? No, expecting some other big “O” content… Well, then you’re on the wrong website, buster!

Badge of honor, source of pleasure, reason for pride, satisfaction to scream about or maybe just something to accept quietly and celebrate contently in your own mind. The big O in all of its glory. Whether solo, with a best buddy or as a group, it’s something we’ll all experience - if we’re lucky to last that long.

What, you’re not…

Gen Y – Tear down your walls

Every so often, we have a generational shift – Baby Boomers, Generation X, Gen Y. Every time this happens, all the changes in behaviour, in interests, in work ethics, in motivational drivers are being dissected and highlighted, new modi operandi imagined, claims made – out with the old, in with the new.

Within recruitment, Gen Y is currently a really big, serious and hot topic, discussed in…

Generation Bowie – the original flexible workforce?

“Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it” (George Orwell)

Gen X using Gen Y tools spells trouble...

Social networking sites, such as Twitter and facebook in particular, are featuring significantly in online debates at the moment, principally for two reasons it seems:

* Employers are using social networking sites to 'check out' candidates before extending job offers

* Employers are complaining about the time 'wasted' by employees who use these sites regularly at work

If you are currently in HR, and find… Continue

Recruiters need to get smart to win the Generation Game

There’s been a lot of debate recently about the future recruitment landscape, and how current events and technological advances will transform the way companies recruit. I took part in at least 2 separate discussions about this at London Unconference.

Certainly we 3rd party recruiters have many challenges ahead, and one the biggest, I believe, will come from the generational shift in decision makers from Baby Boomers to Generation X.

Over the last 20 years or so agencies… Continue

My Social; Network

I am constantly being asked to join a “Mafia Family”. I regularly get invited to “Link into” someone’s network. And I know that “My Face and My Space” has been accepted as friend and network resource from old classmates at PS 104 to contacts of current Governors and past Presidents of the US.

Am I really popular? I don’t think so. Might I insightfully provide wisdom that will lead to a lottery’s monetary value of wealth? As the “Magic 8 Ball” would say, “It is very unlikely.” What is… Continue

Why use a tiny URL in Recruitment?

URLs are nowadays crucial for Recruitment.

The URL is the place where you offer your Apply NOW button, where you tell your audience how good and successful you already are, and will become better if YOU join us...
