Who is Elliott and what type of employment relationships do we offer our workforce?

It could be because most of our work force is self managed...it could be that aunts, uncles, parents and children and multiple generations work at Elliott (when we talk about family sometimes we mean it literally)...it could be the down to earth VP's who's entry level careers and countless hours have paid off as they provide the necessary leadership and produce results. Personally I think the turnover metrics says it best, with less than 1% annually turnnover Elliott Company is able to back…

American Tech Workforce is Tougher than Ever

Despite the massive layoffs across the board in technology from Big Blue to small-fry tech companies, there appears to be a streak of confidence among the masses. People in technology – engineers, software developers, IT, sales and marketing – seem to be a bit stronger through this crisis than in the past. Some of this may have to do with the bubble bursting on many of us in the dot com era. Or, it may have to do with the hope a new administration promises. More likely, much of it has to do… Continue

"Sea of candidates"

There's a reason people associate used-car salesmen with charlatans. Cars went from a luxury to an absolute necessity, and with the proliferation of models, brands and personalization of automobiles, who's to know if the one you're getting is better or worse than an equally priced one next door?

Similarly, Software Professionals have gone from targeting their careers to sophisticated design of top secret military programs or higher education applications to being requested for pretty… Continue

Behavioral Interviewing For Engineers

Previously posted on blog.keenhire.com

In my conversations with recruiters specializing in placing Engineers they are adamant about the point that Engineers get hired for their credentials and not their behaviors. Interestingly enough their corporate counterparts disagree.
