Recruiting software – and recruiting strategy in general – needs to make the leap into the mobile age sooner than later.

The reason for this is simple: recruiters need to go where the candidates are. Thirty years ago, candidates routinely looked at the classified jobs section of the…

Integration is key for utilizing recruiting metrics!

I think we can all agree that collecting recruiting metrics in your recruitment process is important!  Not only does it help you understand what's working and what's not in your recruitment funnel but it enables you to make actionable decisions on your recruitment marketing mix and strategy.

The key, however, is creating a dashboard of sorts within your recruitment process that enables you to view…

Are you ready for Mobile Computing

Have you noticed mobile computing is permeating all that we know? To be honest - you probably haven't (unless you are particularly excited about IT, Technology or Cloud Computing). BUT it is changing our lives! Mobile computing is actually expected to surpass desktop using by 2014 - that means in 3 short years the ways we are used to will be all but obsolete!
What is mobile computing?
Mobile computing is simply about where the data storage and processing is…

Mobile Possibilities...

I've returned this year to SXSWi with not only great expectations but fun deliverables. As I'm writing from my hotel this morning in Austin, TX I'm reminded that I'm only on the 2nd day of the event and already feeling like I have connected with a week's worth of people, heard a week's worth of industry chatter and seen a week's worth of after hours socializing.  It's not overwhelming, as some might…

When extra "Manpower" doesn't mean a new employee!

It is becoming increasingly important in today’s economy that every company needs to try and do more with less.  And in no place is it more present than in the recruiting sector.  Recruiting organizations consistently are asked to do more with their ever decreasing set of resources.

But not all’s lost as recruiting organizations are consistently finding ways to improve their processes and cut the fat of their overall…

Make Use of your Talent Network as a new recruiting channel!

First things first!  Let’s define what a Talent Network is.  Here’s my definition:

A Talent Network is the concept of building a collection of candidates that fit job positions that you are consistently hiring for.  These candidates can be housed in a database or Recruiting CRM and will act as a new recruiting channel for you to utilize as new job requisitions open…

Recruiting CRM - A Buyer's Guide

Being on the technology side, I know how hard it is to talk to differentiate from one solution to the next when it comes to recruitment marketing technology.  When purchasing a Recruiting CRM, it’s that much harder as you not only have vendors with Traditional Sales Based CRM’s but also companies that focus solely on CRM’s for recruiting.

When deciding between solutions, take a moment to evaluate your current situation.  Ask your team why you need a CRM and what problems you hope to…

Mobile Recruitment... Here to stay.

2011 is a brand new year,

A lot of things will happen in the recruitment area... We even might be recruiting in outer space because of lack of skilled people on earth...

Recruiting in outer space

What will happen this year is a further expansion in Mobile recruiting.

With the launch of mobile recruiting apps back in 2008, recruiting via Mobile has been evolving. Nowadays a recruiter is not up to date if he has not implemented Mobile in his marketing plans for… Continue

What do you want for Recruiting this Holiday Season?

If your organization is like many, the weeks around Christmas and New Years make your office look like a ghost town.  With most of your colleagues (rightly) taking time off during the Holiday season, there’s little that can be done in the office and you need something to do instead outside of your Holiday parties.

So here’s what I propose: make a Christmas wish list!  No, not a list of things you should get for your family & relatives (you should have already shopped for those)…

Talent Engagement in China

China - one of the countries on this blue marble that I've wanted to see since I was a kid. As fate would have it, I had the privlidge of exploring Hong Kong and Shanghai for almost a week as I traveled out of the United States to meet with our teams around the world.

My journey this holiday season put me in Hong Kong for 4 days and Shanghai for another 2, which was enough time to recouperate from a time zone change that was more disruptive than I'd anticipated, but not… Continue

What should the next generation of recruiting technology look like?

We talk a lot on this blog about the technology that exists today that can help your organization recruit more cheaply and effectively. But today I want to talk about and get your opinions on where recruiting technology is going and what pain points technology can solve for recruiters.

The big question is: where do you think innovation is needed in the recruiting space? Distribution of jobs? Social Networks? Metrics & Analytics? Identifying candidates? Something else?
