My company has devloped the first mobile based recruitment advertising and candidate tracking system for the Chinese market. Although onliy in start up mode (we have done two proof of concept projects and are just starting to generate revenues) we won an Award from Red Herring which is very pleasing.
Mobile is going to be a huge candidate acquisition channel in China, and probably other markets in Asia, like India and Indonesia.
We talk a lot on this blog about the technology that exists today that can help your organization recruit more cheaply and effectively. But today I want to talk about and get your opinions on where recruiting technology is going and what pain points technology can solve for recruiters.
The big question is: where do you think innovation is needed in the
recruiting space? Distribution of jobs? Social Networks? Metrics & Analytics? Identifying candidates? Something else?
Mobile is becoming more important in recruiting every passing day. With more and more cell phone users choosing SmartPhones, mobile is quickly becoming an important part of any recruitment marketing strategy.
The question for most recruiting organizations, however, is to understand in what ways they should leverage mobile technologies to get the…
We receive a lot of questions from employers asking us essentially the same thing, “what recruiting channels should I use?” The answer to this question is always “It Depends.” It depends on the job position, it depends on your company’s employer brand, it depends on the resources you have on your recruiting team, it depends on how much recruiting budget you have, etc. We listen to their situation and then provide recommendations.…
Earlier this month, I wrote a blog article on mobile recruiting and why it is and will be an important recruiting channel for employers. Today I want to talk about mobile technology and in what ways you can utilize this technology effectively in your recruitment marketing strategy.…
There are many ways to conduct a job search in Australia. We’re a country that thrives on developing new technologies and the employment industry uses alot of them for the purpose of advertising jobs. It's no secret that I'm in love with technology. I enjoy getting my hands on the newest gadgets, widgets, apps and devices that are available and figuring out how they work - or just enjoying what they do. I've been known to go a few sleepless nights here and there just because there weren't enough hours in the day to wrap my head… Continue

So let's talk mobile applications for employment. Why? Well quite simply because I'm tired of hearing people say that job seekers aren't ready to apply for jobs via their mobile. And I think I'm to the point where I just have to call it out and say, "that's crap." If done right, I can't think of a single reason a job seeker wouldn't want to submit interest for a job via… Continue

The Apple AppStore has over 100,000 iPhone applications. Verizon's Droid is a a few months old and Google just launched the Nexus One. Microsoft has Windows Mobile and the Palm has the hot new Palm Pre. The current king of Mobile Business is the Blackberry (RIM), but it is losing ground fast. Apple, Microsoft, Google, Palm, Verizon & RIM all going after the same market and that makes for great headlines.
Have you heard of Cloud Recruiting? What is it exactly?
Virtualization…Access On Demand. Cloud Recruiting is based off of Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing, in the simple form, is the ability to access everything in one location. For those of you that are familiar with SalesForce.com, think of the possibility of adding GoogleWave on top of SalesForce.com and what that could mean. Seems pretty cool, right? For those of you that are unfamiliar with SalesForce.com and… Continue
She who texts the fastest WINS!! OK, not really, but to be on the forefront of recruiting, mobile is where it's at. Think about this... In the month of January alone, I have sent 6,272 SMS messages. These messages served a variety of purposes. They were to friends, family, charities for donations, etc. I accomplish my main personal communications all through text. I am not saying that everyone is using text as much or even half as much, but you cannot deny it continues to grow. My son… Continue
Just a quick post to give you some food for thought over the weekend in regards to mobile marketing and recruitment. Check out this quick video posted where I posed the question to a local chapter of the… Continue

It's no secret that I love my iPhone. It's certainly no secret that I'm an avid believer in mobile marketing for recruitment. So I'm sure it was no surprise when early this year I came to the leadership at AT&T and explained to them how strongly I felt that we should create the first employment driven application on an iPhone. And while I was probably guilty of using phrases like, "it's our responsibility" or "it… Continue
