With the technological advancements...i guess everyone has a smart phone..
So.. is the idea of shifting to using the e-cards or using the business cards with just a barcode/ Q-code on them with a link to the company's website or personal details a good idea???
Or should i stick to the basic business cards?? any suggestions?? would you jump to the e-card idea??

I have recently had the pleasure of managing a large volume recruitment project, and utilised partnerships with other agencies. It ocurred to me to actually learn something from my range of experiences, from "Oh yay its her again - she's a fab recruiter" to "please, please, please don't let that be X on the phone!"
These are my perceptions of what not to do and what TO do!

So there is a buzz zuzz-ing
its way around the neighborhood these days. I am sure you have heard all about it and if you have not, well, this is your chance to learn about a wonderful
offering coming to the RecruitingBlogs.com community in just a couple months. I am speaking of none other than RecruitFest… Continue

I write daily in the discussion forum here on RecruitingBlogs and I will be honest with you, it takes a lot out of my brain. But I LOVE it. My involvement with RecruitingBlogs.com has been nothing short of a big, fat blessing. I have met the most wonderful people and made life-long friends. Seriously. Additionally, the wisdom that is graciously shared across this site is truly that: WISDOM. I value
the time I spend here. I value
what I learn here. I value the… Continue

This is the year of the Cougar, Brah and Bro. Do not hire them! Trust me, these folks will ruin a Recruiting department in a New York minute. Here is how.
The Staffing Cougar
Staffing agencies are crowded with Office Cougars (aka Account Executives). They are fiercest of the Cougar species. They approach their prey (aka Hiring Managers) with little fear and maul them in broad day light. Not a good, especially if your agency has squeaky clean reputation. However,… Continue

I’m surrounded by programmers. Nerdy types that get to wear jeans, sneakers and T-shirts. I feel like a rent-a-cop at a Phish concert sometimes. But hey, I was here first. I hired all these mealy mouth geeksters that bitch and moan about the work environment – when they have to turn on the lights.
I may have arrived too early, but I signed up for KODA
(in Beta). It is an amazing social networking site for… Continue

A year is not a very long time in the overall scheme of things
. Online, time seems to be compressed in ways that defy imagination. We measure our time and attention span in the language of machines. We live at such a frenetic pace that rarely do we stop to pause and reflect.
Change happens in front of our very eyes but we often miss it. In so doing we miss out on developing a level of appreciation for things that should come… Continue

Inspired by Joel Cheesman's post
about ERE and RecruitingBlogs.com
It's apples and oranges. They are not the same. They don't function the same. the expectations for everyone involved are not the same. They are two very different brands and brands evoke feeling. The feeling between the two is different.
I'm not surprised that ERE is launching a Ning network for the Fordyce Letter. The thing about Ning and the… Continue

Wow - I was thinking that of all the places I was safe, it was here... on RecruitingBlogs.com
I love the networking. I love the ability to quickly reach to peers in the industry. I love the quick "touch" resources and ability to 'touch' those close to me with this somewhat new tool...
But I just got spammed
on the RecruitingBlogs.com site.... again.
I'll spare the spammer and won't name him - but the unsolicited assistance in the form of a 450 word… Continue

I just took a look and there are 116 entries in the Recruiting Jobs
section here on RecruitingBlogs.com.
I am wondering if anyone has had success hiring anyone yet as a result of the posts there. I have talked to one recruiter personally who has let me know that her firm has placed 2 maybe three recruiters they have met here on RecruitingBlogs.com
I see it as value… Continue

Well, that just gives us an opportunity to schedule another one, eh, Jason? Don't invest that money in a share of Google stock just yet, dude. You'll need it for Dallas round II.
